Everything, Pt. 1
By Fefe Dobson

first week of classes has been surprisingly ... chill. I moved in two weeks ago and i've gotta say that absolutely love my roomies and our appartment. Everyone's really chill, funny, and just real cool. We have fun.

The Labor Day weekend was a real jam-packed and fun one. Saturday we decided to be tourists and visited Arlington National Cemetary and the National Aquarium.  Haha the aquarium in DC was fun. Nothing close to the one in B'more, but hey, we got in for free. It was fun to see Vaness a.k.a. the Alligator Whisperer in action and watch tropical frogs get it on.   We topped the day off by hitting up Home in Chinatown, but that place totally bLew. there was no one there by 12 and the music was from like, 2001. it sucked. until then i've never been drunk and bored at the same time. so yeahh we left there pretty quick.

so Sunday was chilled. loungin around for the most part.  later that night i hit up CP with my friend Kat.  visited the not-so-baby Martin and his girl, Ria. [they're too cute! ] and then visited Kat's friend's appartment over at the Courtyards. everything was pretty chill... just nice to get off CUA campus every now and then. haha.

Monday we celebrated miss heyLen's 21st!! started off with a bomb-ass Italian family style dinner at Buca de Bepo @ dupont. [did i get that name right this time?] haha anyways.. we followed it up with some major "chillin" at the appartment. haha we were smart though! had someone on *RA-watch* and everything.

so today i had my clinical orientation at washington hosp. center. it was pretty chill. i like my clinical instructor. she asks a lot of questions, but she's not a bitch about it. i am going to be living at that hospital this semester since i'm workin Radiology there on Thursdays and Sundays. So yeahh.. Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, Thursday night, and Sunday you will be finding me somewhere at WHC.

okay that's basically it for now... i shall be posting pictures when i get around to it. now i'm probly gonna hit up the gymnasio and then get some yummy-in-my-tummy Chic-fil-A. haha i love how my school has a ChicFilA cuz it always makes me think of Landmark Mall.  okay.. so thats enough randomness for now. until next time kiddos...

just some fun randomness before the summer comes to an end ...

You are nurturing, kind, and lucky. Like mother nature, you want to help everyone. You are good at keeping secrets and tend to be secretive. A seeker of harmony, you are a natural peacemaker. You are good natured and people enjoy your company. You put people at ease and make them feel at home with you.

The World's Shortest Personality Test

i was torn between that one and this one ...

You are dreamy, peaceful, and young at heart.Optimistic and caring, you tend to see the best in people. You tend to be always smiling - and making others smile. You are shy and intelligent... and a very hard worker. You're also funny, but many people don't see your funny side.Your subtle dry humor leaves your close friends in stitches.

- As Lover's Go

today, while i was playing chauffeur to my younger brother, i watched "Red Eye" at Springfield mall. i like Rachel McAdams. [is there a hair color that this girl does not look good in?]  however, i dont know if i like her new movie. if i had to pick one word to sum up what i thought about the movie it would be : meh.  some parts are intense and all, but i mean, i walked out of the theater just like, "hmm. well that was entertaining" with this face --> .  compare this to after I watched "The Skeleton Key" and was freaked out to look in to any type of mirror for the next two nights and drove home with this face -->

anyways, in my opinion, there's nothing quite as relaxing as going to the movies by yourself. it's serious "me" time, which i think everyone needs every now and then. i mean, think of the perks. you get all of the arm space you could possibly need. you don't have to share your popcorn with anyone. it's okay to cry, laugh at stupid jokes, and hide your eyes or shriek when you get scared. it's just you and the movie [unless there's a crying baby at your R-rated movie, or worst yet - someone kicking your back seat.] so yes, try it out. the whole going to the movies solo thing, i mean. it's fun to do every now and then. the only down side would be... no one holds your hand during the whole movie. i kinda missed that today....

- Feelin' Good

so Summer 2005 is coming to a close and looking back,  it appears to not have been a very good summer. kidney infection + all this other medical stuff. washington hospital ctr. screwing me over *multiple* times. this leads to me not having a job practically all summer. and that leads to me being uber-broke for the majority of the summer and for the beginning of school. boo. thats no fun.

but then again, it was kinda relaxing. i learned this summer that i'm used to habits. knowing what i'm going to do this day and the day after that. and this summer wascompletely the opposite of that. no classes. no 9-5 job. and not gonna lie, it was kinda nice. i also realized this summer how crappy  spring semester was last year. i was basically some type of sick the entire time and therefore miserable. but this summer i got my act together and have been feeling great and energized! woohoo!! staying at home i was also able to chill with the family members more, which is great - as of right now. haha. but seriously, my family is fuckin hilarious. like tonight me and my mom were going to quiznos at rivertown and we were lookin for parking but had to park waaaaay in the back. then as we're walkin to the store, we see this car leave a spot and i go, "aww.. you fucker." totally in front of my religiously church-going mom. super-holy mom then says, "forgive us, Lord" and then after a pause looks at the car driving a way and says - pretty loudly for a small filipina lady- "eff you!" and that, ladies and gentlmen, is one of the reasons why i love my mommy.

so yes, i'm not gonna bitch about how awful the summer is. just enjoy it for what it was. i got to lounge around the AC'd house and watch OnDemand [i that thing!] for almost 3 months. ya'll know you're jealous.. haha

Sunday, July 24, 2005

So right now before I [hopefully] start working.. and making that much-needed-money, I'm going to be in a little concert-spree. It started Thursday night with a trip to Zig's in good old Alexandria to watch the Philly band Snoozebox.

so basically.. my girl Iliana calls me and asks if i wanted to check them out and i figured, "hell, beats staying home and doing nothing." I figured it'd be nice to meet up with Ills and a couple of high school buddies. Little did i know that I would also be taking part in hands down THE most random Ireton '03 reunion/get-together. A little weird, but lotsa fun. Just interesting to see the "college" version of everyone...

K so fast-forward to last night.. me and the familia headed over to the Warner to catch my idol, Lea Salonga.

In case you didn't know, Lea was my absolute first musical idol. Years before I got my hands on Mariah Carey's "Daydream" CD.. I was learning and singing all the lyrics to "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal" and "Nandito Ako"  and all those other songs that I didnt really know what the heck she was singing about. PLUS, she's Jasmine in "A Whole New World." !! No wonder she was kind of like my Superwoman when I was 7 years old.

The last time I saw her live was when she was closing for "Miss Saigon" and of course I was blown away. But that was years ago and since then I've kinda hung-up my musical theatre shoes. So I haven't really thought much about Lea except for when it came to wondering which karaoke song to sing. But let me tell you. Ms. Salonga absofuckinglutely blew me away at the Warner. She can sing so many different styles of music with such clarity, strength, and emotion. Gave me goosebumps throughout the entire show. It was such an awesome experience to hear my SuperWoman sing live again. Hopefully I'll be able to see her onstage in the near future. I haven't seen "Wicked" yet. I guess I'll wait and see if I can catch it when Lea's starring in it. Cross ur fingers!!
